It's been a fantastic fortnight for Maria Sharapova, reaching the Wimbledon semis for the first time since 2011, and now set to return to No.2 on the WTA Rankings and Road To Singapore leaderboard.
We asked you to tell us how she inspires you, and you did - here are 30 of your best messages:
She is by far my favourite player because of her attitude. You can never tell by her face on court whether she is winning 6-0 or having a completely off day. She just fights for every single point every single moment. No matter who and how she is playing, she always gives everything she has. Such attitude is of a true champion. Her comebacks from injuries during 2009 and first part of 2014 also demonstrate the grit and unbelievable determination she has. Sharapova's spirit is what we should all learn and I believe her name will be remembered, for she has been an amazing fighter throughout her career.

Masha is a great champion, a role model for all the little girls that dream of becoming tennis players, always a fighter until the end, a classy appearance and ambitious like no other, a WTA star that keeps on shining.
~ Alexandra
Maria is a great inspiration even if though I am not a professional tennis player. She inspires me with the determination and will to fight. Her mental power is a true inspiration as well. Whenever I lose faith and feel little down I just watch Maria play and I feel ten times better. I was and will always be her die hard fan #goMasha
~ Mirlinda
Maria is inspiring in every single way. From what she does to what she says. I read many of her interviews and you can almost feel the power of her words. Most inspiring is the fight that she presents on and off court, just amazing. But that's the way she is, unique and outstanding.
~ Martin
I've been following her since her first Slam, which was a complete inspiration to all teenagers. I really admire her hard determination and willpower with which she never ever gives up. #GoForIt #SlamNo6
~ Mahesh, India
Maria has inspired me to be tenacious and perseverant. Her game and persona on court are the result of hard work, determination and resilience. Ever since she won her first Grand Slam at Wimbledon 2004, she has transformed herself from a clever young player into a seasoned athlete. I remember watching the Roland Garros final in 2014 and how she drew from experience and talent to overcome a tough opponent. Her concentration and charisma are a constant reminder of how it is never over until the last ball is played. She inspires me to never give up no matter what. Thank you Maria!
~ Leonardo, Colombia
She is a fighter, she never quits. Gracious in defeat and humble in victory. I remember that when I was little the first tennis match I saw was the 2004 Wimbledon final, which Maria won, and that is what motivated me to start playing. She inspired me to play tennis again after I had stopped playing when I saw her reach the finals at the Australian Open in 2012. She is the reason I keep coming back to this marvellous sport. For I learnt how to stay strong even in the face of adversity and for that she will always be my hero :)
~ Razen
I'm a professional athlete too. A gymnast actually. Last year I injured myself just before my last European Championship as a junior. I was in the form of my life! Now I'm not sure if I want to continue and it's very difficult to find motivation after being out of the game for such a long period of time. Maria inspires me! Seeing her career helps me find strength and motivation to come back even stronger! So thank you Maria for being such a fighter and for spreading the true sport spirit around the world.
~ Nikola
It was in 2014 when I first saw her play a full match. Of course I had heard about her before, but I had never watched her play. On that day, she was playing against Sam Stosur in the fourth round of Roland Garros. She was down one set and only a few points from losing. Suddenly I realized that I wanted Maria to win. It was because of the way she played. She just didn't give up and still played aggressive tennis. Since than, I have watched almost every one of her matches and she became my idol. And why? In my opinion she is the best player in the world, not only because of number of titles she has won so far but mostly because she just never gives up, she fights till the end and she is always nice to her fans.
~ Livia, Slovakia
It's inspiring to see passion and ambition taking the form of success. That's how she inspires.
~ Denisa
She is the embodiment of a true professional. She approaches every point with studied calm. She's had many physical setbacks but does not hark back to them by way of excuses. She gives of her best on court and does not feign illness or use it as an excuse or to get attention. She is a success in both her private and professional life. She is well spoken and shuns controversy to get attention. Above all she is dedicated to the game and a true blue athlete.
~ Leonard
She is extremely inspiring. Although other players also had a rough road to the top, Maria came to the US as an immigrant with no money in her pockets and without her mother at a very early age, just with one dream: to be a great tennis player. She not only became a great player but also a number one in the world, and multiple Grand Slam champion, and a public figure to admire and respect. She is also a class act on and off the court who has never been abusive towards line judges, staff, fans or other players. No drama, always focus and no excuses kind of person - a total hall of famer!!
~ Mario
Her composure really inspires me to keep striving for the best in school. Sometimes when things get tough in school, I stay composed and remember her.
~ Mark, USA
She has so much more in her life than most people, yet her ability to always go out and fight on the court, coming back from injuries, off days, bad starts to the season, and always treating every point like a match point really does give off a positive attitude and inspire people everywhere. Any people like her would develop the "on top of the world" vibe, but not Maria. She is grounded and has good morals, and is a true, relentless fighter that never, ever gives up.
~ Lauren
Maria Sharapova is such an inspiration to many people around the world. She is the biggest fighter in men's or women's tennis. There have been many matches throughout her career where she has been down and out and she is able to comeback and win the match. The way she came back after all of her injuries to capture the Career Grand Slam is really sensational. I don't know if anyone else would be able to do that. She is so determined to win every single match and tournament she plays.
~ Michael
Maria's perseverance is what inspires me. She's not done fighting until the match is over. She plays every point like it's match point and keeps fighting, and her second round match at the Aussie Open against Panova proved that. Not to mention the fact that she came back from a career-ending shoulder injury. She didn't know if she'd play again, but she spared no effort to try and come back. Not only did she come back, but she came back better than ever! She won two French Open titles. She never settles, she simply fights.
~ Reagan
Her never say die, never give up attitude inspires me to go on and reach my dreams no matter what hardships I face in life. She is the definition of perseverance, a true warrior with a lion heart.
~ Eljay
Masha has inspired me in almost all aspects. Her life story itself is already very inspiring. She has been very successful on and off the court. She continues to be humble and shares her success to everybody. I'd say she is the perfect face of "Women's Empowerment."
~ Audy, Philippines
Where do I begin? She has definitely played a role in my decision to fall in love with tennis. I never knew the sport but watching her for the very first time at Wimbledon 2007, I couldn't help but admire how focused and determined she was on every point, every ball and every second of the match. I fell in love even more when I learned about her background. Her story just proves that anything is possible when you put your heart and soul into whatever you aim to accomplish. The fact that she remains hungry for more success even at this point of her career is just simply admirable.
~ Allelou
Maria Sharapova is inspiring to me because she's such an AMAZING competitor and SO mentally tough (she NEVER gives up)! And the fact that she came back after her shoulder injury/surgery is also inspiring (and WHAT A COMEBACK it was/is!!!)
~ Frank
Maria is a beautiful player, and from her early life, she has shown that anything is possible. She hasn't had the easiest early life, but it makes her stronger everyday. Anyone can get inspired by her - look at her determination, her power, and her mental mind. Terrific player.
~ Rainbow, Australia
Maria Sharapova is the fiercest competitor the sport has ever seen. Her never say die attitude is what separates her from her peers. Whether it's the first round or the final, she always maintains that fiery intensity. After getting shoulder surgery, she could have hung up the racquet, but she worked hard to get back to No.1 and complete the Career Slam. She has accomplished so much on and off the court, but still gets up every day to practice. You cannot teach her kind of discipline. She inspires me to always give my all and to never give up.
~ Jon
Maria Sharapova is my spirit animal. A competitor for the ages, Maria inspires me to try just a little bit harder. Whether it's the easy route or the hard one, through sheer willpower, she continues to come out on top. While her contemporaries chase records and accolades, Maria's individual #PowertoInspire comes in a different form. She stands firm, proving that through hard work and determination, the underdog, too, can carve out her own legacy.
~ Anthony
When someone says Maria, it's the fighting spirit that strikes first. Her mental toughness is highly resilient and immune to whatever threats from her opponents. And the way she won Roland Garros in 2014 is the best example for those qualities.
~ Viswanathan, India
Maria Sharapova is the strongest player I've ever seen. She's such an amazing person, because she never gives up. She fights for every single ball like her life depends on it. At 17 she won Wimbledon when no one thought it would happen. She believes in herself every moment she can. After her injury almost nobody thought she'd come back, but she did. She won the French Open after a million hours of training and fighting, and her dream to be No.1 in the world came true again. It's just impressive what she's done.
~ Sabine, Germany
Maria always motivates me. She is one of the huge fighters and never gives up because she always believes in her game, her power and possibilities. She respects all her opponents. She never destroys her equipment (rackets) and she always keep calm in difficult moments. This is a very good champion and also very good person in the first place :) <3
~ Djordje
I remember flipping channels and suddenly I see Serena playing a young up and coming teenager. I couldn't help but notice the grit and determination she had that final. As I've watched her go through ups and downs in her career, I am truly inspired by her dedication and hunger for the passion she has in tennis. I think it translates to anything in life. Do what you Love, do it to the absolute best of our ability, and great things will follow. Thanks Maria.
~ Edward
I remember the first time I saw Maria was when I was eight and I immediately fell in love with the way she played. Her game, her grit, her determination, her grace is what made me fall in love with her personality and her game. I remember her coming to India last year and me screaming with joy when I found out she was going to play in India. She is a true idol for millions of people worldwide because she proved that even if you have humble beginnings you can always have a bright future. Love Maria forever! All the best for Wimbledon!!!
~ Tanisha, India
In my life, I have faced so many tough situations. I was shattered sometimes. And on those times, I just tried to remember the fighting spirit of Maria and got motivated. The way she overcame prolonged injury and again became a title contender was remarkable. From the door of almost defeat she came alive again and again and thus established herself one of the best players. Way to go girl! You are a true champion.
~ Kaushik, India
I don't think we have ever seen as strong a competitor as Maria Sharapova. From the moment we saw her burst onto the scene at Wimbledon, that steel in her eyes has never wavered. Despite injuries and setbacks she repeatedly claws her way back to the top and she's one of the few players who actively seeks to add different dimensions to her game. It's like Judy Murray said: Sharapova is like a teabag, put her in hot water and see how strong she gets.
