Q. Before the tournament, did you ever think that you could play the final of this tournament? Did you have these kind of goals? When you look at how you got to the final, which one was the match that troubled you the most? Was it Ivanovic or this one?

SARA ERRANI: No, I didn't think about that never. It's incredible for me. I didn't expect it, and I'm here. So I don't know what to say. For the match I think all was very difficult. Also the first round maybe was the most difficult. So all the matches I played, I'm very happy for how I played because I think I made good games.

Is not finish, so I have one match more. I have to think about that. That's it.

Q. After Schiavone, there's starting to be a certain Italian tradition in Roland Garros, in your point of view?

SARA ERRANI: I don't know. Yes, Francesca won two years ago, then final, then I am in the final. We are also in the final in doubles. So maybe yes. Maybe yes.

Q. I'd like to talk to you about the match. You lost to Stosur very recently in Rome. The kick serve is something that has given players a lot of problems. Today you seem to be playing it a bit differently; seemed to be taking it on the rise a little bit earlier. Can you talk about that tactically? Was that an important part of things today for you?

SARA ERRANI: Well, yes. I lost in Rome. But also when I finish the match there, I say that the good thing that was depending also from me, the match, not only from her. So that was a good thing for me. A bad thing because I thought that I play not a good match.

But here I just ‑‑ she's a great server, but I like to receive. So the difficult was also to serve good because she's very strong also in the receive. So was not easy. I just try to read her, I don't know how say in English, the toss. So just to think about that.

And then on the game, on the baseline, I was feeling good. She's strong for it, but I was okay. It was not too bad when I was running. So that was a good thing. The important was to receive and to serve.

So was good.

Q. The start of the match was delayed by rain. What do you do to maintain your focus when you're not quite sure what time you're going to come on court? How quickly can you get ready?

SARA ERRANI: Well, I was sleeping a bit. It's not easy because you have to think, just listen music, try to don't think about the match. Because also you don't know when you're going to play, so you have just to ‑‑ you lose energy if you think too much about the match. You are nervous or you just have to think about other things. Just try to relax.

I just stay in the locker room on the sofa. So just keep quiet, just listen music, and that's it.

Q. Which kind of music?

SARA ERRANI: I don't know. Every music. (Smiling.)

Q. There was lots of momentum changes in the match, ups and downs. Then it got very tense at 4‑3, but you held your never, your calmness. Usually a player in this situation for the first time, they get nervous, but you served the last game at love. Can you talk about what you were feeling and what you were saying to yourself in these moments?

SARA ERRANI: Yes. I was very nervous, but on the same time I was really focused on the game. Maybe she had more pressure. So I just want to just think about what I had to do.

Try to forget everything, forget where I am. Just try to think ‑‑ maybe I was more focused than other moments on the more important moments because just want to forget and try to do what I want to do, put the ball where I want to put.

So this was ‑‑ I don't know.

Q. You mentioned before that you changed your racquet and that it was important. Is the handle longer or is the blade larger? What is the difference?

SARA ERRANI: Sorry? Is more longer.

Q. It's longer?

SARA ERRANI: Yes.

Q. The handle is longer?

SARA ERRANI: Yes.

Q. Why is that so important?

SARA ERRANI: Because it make me more power. Like one person has a longer arms. I have to make like a bit longer with the racquet. (Smiling.) Of course you have more speed, you have more power for that.

If you can control it, you have of course more power. And also, the racquet in the same, longer is more power. So more power and power for the longer.

Q. So what if you make it another centimeter longer?

SARA ERRANI: I can try. I can try. But after, if you make too long is difficult to control it.

But of course ‑‑ I don't know. I will try. (Smiling.)

Q. You're playing first final in Grand Slam. Next Monday you make your debut in top 10. This tournament sounds like jackpot for you?

SARA ERRANI: Sounds like?

Q. A jackpot.

SARA ERRANI: Maybe yes. Maybe yes.

I don't know. I didn't expect. I don't feel like top 10 but now I will be, so it's a strange sensation, because I have to just ‑‑ after this tournament just relax and think. Maybe my problem always was that I couldn't believe too much to win with the strong players.

But now I beat three in a row. I'm in the final in a Grand Slam. So I have to maybe try to think a bit different. I don't know to explain.
