Старая гвардия... Помните ли мои слова?

Я готовил пост "Следующая соперница Марии" когда матч Винус - Петра начался.

Пытался писать пост и смотреть счет, но когда нашел лайв-комменты о матче решил что пост для Марии подождет.

И правильно решил.

Жаль что мы не смогли увидеть этот матч.

Однако он-лайн счет и лайв-комменты Бена Rothenberg помогли мне почувствовать атмосферу матча.

Если Вы недооцениваете Винус, делаете большую ошибку, так сказал Бен. Я не могу рассказать все его комменты, поэтому подготовил их и внизу Вы сможете прочитать их так, как я читал их во время матча.

Но до этого мне хочется сказать несколько слов.

Я уже писал что уважаю Винус исключительно много, в некоторые отношения даже больше Марии. Прекрасный человек. Исключительный игрок. Она показала всем новый путь в теннисе. Она продвинула атлетизм в женском теннисе на таком уровне, на котором никто не думал что возможно.

И ее, как Марию, отписывали несколько раз. И в ней не верили так, как не верили в Марию, что сможет вернутся среди лучших в женском теннисе.

А когда в прошлом году все мы узнали об ее болезни, многие думали что это конец теннисистки Винус.

Бен написал что никогда не видел Винус столь готовой за борьбы, даже подбадривалась как Марию кулачком по ногу...

Винус и Петра редко играли качественно одновременно, но часто были качественные комбинации и выполнения от них.

В первом сете НО были:

Винус 19, Петра 18

Винеры: Винус 12, Петра 9

Во втором сете НО:

Винус 14, Петра 13

Винеры: Винус 8, Петра 8

В матче НО были:

Винус 39, Петра 44

Винеры: Винус 24, Петра 20

 

Вот и статистика матча:

 

Хочу отметит что подача Винус была немножко слабее чем мы ее знаем, но все таки гораздо сильнее чем подачи Марии и многих других теннисисток, включая Иванович.

Много раз Винус подавала 112 - 115 миль/час.

А 3-й сет я думаю запомнят надолго.

Петра выиграла на своей подаче только 4 очков! И только 2 очков на первой подаче!

Да, Петра Квитова, та о которой говорят что имеет самый сильный атакующий теннис.

Наверно не видели такую статистику:

 

Петра не выиграла ни одно очко на первой подаче!

И выиграла только одно очко на приеме первой подачи Винус.

Конечно мы знали что влажность воздуха затрудняет Петру. Поэтому логично было ожидать что в 3-ом сете ей будет труднее. Но если не была игра Винус наверно Петра выдержала бы, а если соперница была другая, а не Винус, наверно Петра и победила бы в матче.

Старая гвардия напомнила о себя...

Я был один из тех кто имел и счастье, и удовольствие наблюдать игру Винус в конце прошлого века, и очень рад что теперь буду один из тех кому повезло увидеть и Винус 15 лет спустя.

But the one area where thick rust remains on Venus′ game is second serves. Had to be hard to simulate that pressure in practice. #seopen

Like I said at end of the first, this match being remotely close is awe-inspiring given the circumstances. Don′t doubt the Venus. #seopen
