Plushenko allowed to take part in 2012 European Figure Skating Championships
Nine-time champion of Russia Evgeni Plushenko can take part in the 2012 European Championships that will be held in the end of January in Sheffield.
According to the rules of the International Skating Union (ISU), a minimum technical element score is required for eligibility to compete at ISU Championships. However, an injury didn’t allow Plushenko to compete until December and collect the needed points.
Therefore, the Figure Skating Federation of Russia applied to the ISU for an exception that would grant Plushenko the admission to the Championships. The ISU has accepted the request, as reported by RIA Novosti.
