Vladislav Tretyak: As hosts of Olympics, Universiade, and football World Cup, we can be left without 2016 World Hockey Championship
President of the Russian Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak has spoken about the Russian bid to host the 2016 World Hockey Championship.
The voting on the host country of the tournament will take place on May 14, Russia’s contenders for it being Denmark and Ukraine.
«Our bid is already complete. Everything was made in a very professional way, on the highest level. The officials from the Moscow Sports Department who made the presentation arrived here today. Tomorrow [on Thursday, May 12 – Sports.ru] we will have a rehearsal of our presentation, will discuss it all once again, and then we will present at the congress. Of course, we hope to win. But there’s some anxiety, as well as in the WC quarterfinal against Canada.»
«Denmark is a small country. Most of the events today are held in big ones. Moreover, we already have lot of them in Russia: Olympics, Universiade, football World Cup. And you know, some members of the voting committee may start to ponder whether Russia will host too many events? There are some talks of that kind,» stated Tretyak according to RIA Novosti.
