Yevgeni Artyukhin: Czech coach and Czech players are whiners

Russian national team forward Yevgeni Artyukhin stated he was disappointed by two successive defeats and called Czech Republic national team whiners.

«In the games against Czechs and Finns you became the team’s leader in terms of checking.»

«To say the truth, I don’t want to talk at all. I’m very tired and disappointed. Hits don’t mean much. It just is a shame we didn’t win.»

«After the game against Czech Republic the opponents have refused to shake hands with you. Was it was for the first time in your career?»

«Ah, whatever, I don’t even want to comment on it. Both their coach and their whole team are whiners. They behave very badly, but it all comes from the coach.»

«What did he shout to you? And in what language?»

«To tell the truth, I failed to understand what Hadamczik shouted. He was saying it behind my back, when I have already passed him by. He should’ve told me that in my face.»

«Hadamczik even wanted to fight you. Are you surprized to hear that?»

«I don’t know that he wanted, but it, of course, it’s a shame. Maybe, that’s the hockey Czechs play.»

«Were you worried in the morning? After all, you could have been suspended.»

«Yes, I was a bit anxious. But I felt I was right. Even the experts acknowledged that I did hit in the shoulder and Michalek simulated too much, when he went on ice in the next shift.»

«But Rachunek did not simulate.»

«Yes, he didn’t. But the checking there was also clean.»

«Is it true that the referees warned you before the game against Finland?»

«Yes, they have told me to play in a more correct manner. But I am not rude as it is, I don’t fight anybody. That’s just the way I play hockey,» Artyukhin told to the KHL official website.
