Yevgeny Nabokov: I have no idea what NY Islanders think

Russian national team goalkeeper Yevgeny Nabokov said he can’t clarify the situation with the permit from the New York Islanders which is required to take part in IIHF competions.

«I myself can’t tell you anything. It’s all up to the Russian hockey federation and the NHL. Vladislav Alexandrovich Tretyak called me two days ago and reassured that the issue will be solved positively. That is all I know,» said Nabokov as quoted by Sport-Express.

«Has your agent Don Meehan been trying to settle the issue with the Islanders?»

«Well, I don’t know what the Islanders think. And I have no idea about what my agent is up to.»
