MacTavish, Hitchcock, Riha, and Kanareikin candidates for SKA head coach position

SKA St. Petersburg chairman Alexander Medvedev has revealed that the club is considering four candidates for the head coach position. These are Craig MacTavish, Fedor Kanareikin, Milos Riha, and Ken Hitchcock.

«We will choose our coach not for his past merits or yesterday’s accomplishments. For us it is most important that the candidates provide us a consistent and potentially successful plan of their future work. We will decide which concept fits SKA the best until the end of April,» said Medvedev as quoted by Sport-Express.

Craig MacTavish is former head coach of Edmonton Oilers, while Milos Riha has taken Atlant into the Gagarin Cup finals, Fedor Kanareikin being his predecessor in Mytishchi club. Ken Hitchkock will coach Team Canada at 2011 World Cup.
