Bykov may leave Salavat Yulaev for SKA

Current head coach of Salavat Yulaev and Russian national team Vyacheslav Bykov may leave Salavat Yulaev for SKA St. Petersburg, according to Sport-Express. Bykov himself didn’t deny or confirm the possible move.

«I find it inappropriate to comment on any transfer rumors these days, when Salavat is playing decisive games for the KHL’s main prize. If any negotiations are to take place, that will only be after the final match of the Gagarin Cup», said he.

Bykov is supposed to fit the club’s title ambitions, which once again came to nothing in this year’s KHL play-off. An earlier quote by SKA chairman Alexander Medvedev concerning his club’s search of a new coach could serve as an indirect confirmation of Bykov’s possible move: «We’re currently in process. We are looking for someone who has been successful both on the national ans the international level. Russian coaches are also among the candidates».
