Washington Times observer: With his wages Ovechkin should be scoring 45 times a season
Steven Whyno, the Washington Times hockey expert, insists that the Russian star Alexander Ovechkin is ought to score 40-45 goals a season to make up for his high salary.
«Ovechkin earns around $9.5 million a season. In the recent matches he has been playing well, but really he should be scoring 40-45 times a season to make up for his massive paycheck. And he shouldn’t be just a goal-scorer, he has to lead the team. I think he knows that and the pressure is getting to him,» the observer told Russian newspaper Sport-Express.
«Do you think that Semin will stay in Washington, or will the Capitals trade him?»
«He will stay. They would only trade him out of desperation, he is playing too well at the moment. Without his goals they will not get to the play-offs.»
