Alexey Emelin: I have no room for error at Montreal

Montreal Canadiens defenceman Alexey Emelin said why he doesn’t always get time to play and shared his thoughts on to why the Habs have been having the worst start in 70 years.

«Every player is disappointed when he doesn’t get picked for the game. But I shouldn’t stop, I have to go on and work. I believe I will be given a chance to prove myself. I don’t think that a single game can knock me out of the rails. You know, perhaps, I have no room for error, so I have to go out and prove I’m the best in every match and every minute.»

«What is the reason of the Canadiens’ disastrous start this season?»

«All the guys are now talking about it. Everyone says we need to play more diligently in defense, and our power play also isn’t the best. All these details build up together, and we suffer painful defeats as a result.»

«As one of the most powerful players of the KHL, after a number of matches played in the NHL, don’t you think hockey has become gentler there compared to what it was before?»

«Yes, I was somewhat surprised. I expected to face a tougher game with more body checking,» Emelin said as quoted by Sport-Express.
