Metallurg Novokuznetsk hold negotiations with Jarkko Ruutu
KHL’s Metallurg Novokuznetsk are currently in negotiations with the 36-year-old Finnish forward Jarkko Ruutu, according to Sport-Express.
«I can neither confirm, nor deny this information. I would only talk only about the players with whom the contracts have been already signed. We’d like to fill one more spot left under the limit for foreign players, but it doesn’t depend on me only,» the club’s general manager Leonid Vaisfeld said.
During his career Ruutu has played for HIFK, Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Ottawa Senators, and Anaheim Ducks. Ruutu’s record in 651 matches in various leagues makes 142 (58+84) points and 1076 penalty minutes. He also won silver and bronze medals of the Olympic Games, as well as three silvers and a bronze at the World Championships with Finland national team.
During the last season Jarkko scored 10 (2+8) points in 50 matches for the Ottawa senators, after which he moved to Anaheim where he scored 2 (1+1) points in 22 regular matches and took part in 3 play-off games.
