Everton 2 – Arsenal 1 | Unbelievable loss! | Arsenal Team Rating
Honestly, I can’t remember an easy match at Goodison for Arsenal. This one, however, looked as if it should be the first of its kind. Everton was in dreadful form before the fixture and Arsenal, with their impressive series, had all reasons to be confident. The match started optimistically and Alexis scored on 20th minute. That’s where Arsenal have become complacent and sluggish. Everton could not forgive that and first Coleman, right before the half time, and then Williams on 86th minute have secured 3 points for Everton.
Now we will take a look at individual performances of Arsenal players in this match:
Petr Cech – 6/10
Our goalie played all right. No major mistakes made. Could not do anything about the goals scored so overall an average performance.
Hector Bellerin – 6/10
Hector was quite energetic but unlucky in his attacking duties, on the other half of the pitch, he did a couple of mistakes, none of which were critical. All in all, we expect to see a much better performance from our wonderkid right back!
Loran Koscielny and Gabriel – 5/10
Our center backs were, to a certain degree, responsible for both goals conceded today. Low concentrations and lack of cooperation were distinctive today. Poor performance.
Nacho Monreal – 5/10
Sleepy and uninterested, Nacho went invisible for most part of the game and have contributed to team efforts close to nothing which seems to be a trend already. Rotation has to be considered to test other options.
Francis Coquelin – 8/10
This match has been one of the best for our defensive mid this season. He showed great commitment and passion pursuing opponents as a true bulldog! Well done, mate!
Granit Xhaka – 5,5/10
Much more is expected from Granit than what he showed today. Yes, he did no mistakes but yet he has not created any movement in the central area. His passing was below average and overall, he seems to be unprepared for pressure and competitive games.
Alex Chamberlain, Theo Walcott, Mesut Ozul – 3/10
Dreadful performance from our attacking mids. What was that?! Have they started to celebrate Xmas already??? Let alone they were weak and slow on opponents’ half, they managed to show no dedication to their defensive duties which was the main reason both goals were scored. Disgusting, never want to see that again…
Alexis Sanchez – 8/10
Alexis is the beast! A true leader and unstoppable machine that will work to 100% of his abilities every time he steps on the pitch. Unbelievable player!
Arsene Wenger – 3/10
The mentality always comes from the boss. The team was complacent and uninterested and that is totally the fault of the manager. If he really wants to win the championship, he should motivate the guys better. If not, it’s time to say goodbye #timeforchange
