Zenit’s Meira courted by Sampdoria and several other clubs

Serie A club Sampdoria is courting Zenit’s defender Fernando Meira, according to A Bola.

The 32-year-old Portuguese has not played a minute in the Russian Premier League this season, though he has taken part in six Champions League games. In 2010, he played only 11 games in the domestic championship.

Several other clubs from Serie A and Bundesliga are also thought to be interested in Meira, including Sampdoria, Lazio, Udinese, as well as Hannover, Werder, and Bayer Leverkusen.
