Roman Pavlyuchenko: I wasn’t quite sure what to do on the right flank
Lokomotiv Moscow forward Roman Pavlyuchenko spoke to Sport-Express about his side’s victory against Anzhi and his difficulties in adapting to the new position on the right side of the midfield.
«Lokomotiv was the first to score against Anzhi after the winter break. What’s your secret?»
«We analyzed their game thoroughly. We were very eager to get on the pitch and, with a bit of luck, found the net.»
«Do you get kicked around more in Russia than in the English league?»
«Well, football has become a bit like ice-hockey in that we get hit a lot. But that’s our job.»
«You seemed to pop up on the right a lot today. Did you get the hang of the new position yet?»
«To be honest, not really! I was looking around, trying to find space, but it’s not really my place… I don’t know whether the coach will play me on the right againt, but then again, I am ready to play anywhere when required to,» the former Tottenham striker said.
