Rubin board reject Berdyev’s resignation offer

Rubin Kazan board of directors rejected coach Kurban Berdyev’s offer to resign after a meeting on Tuesday, claims Russian site Gazeta.ru.

Earlier there were reports about the 59-year-old’s intention to quit the club after a conflict with Rubin’s new president.

Later in an interview to a local TV station the club’s president Dmitry Samarenkin claimed Berdyev’s job was not under threat.

«The board has agreed on the club’s budget for 2012. As for the alleged sacking of Berdyev, the issue wasn’t even discussed at the meeting. Berdyev will continue to do his job, starting with a trip to Spain for mid-season preparations along with the squad.»
