Dynamo and Spartak to open their new stadiums in Moscow in 2016
The renovated Dynamo Stadium and the newly built Spartak Stadium, which should host 2018 World Cup matches in Moscow, will be commissioned in 2016.
As of now, active construction works are performed at the Dynamo Stadium, but the complete renovation of the main arena hasn’t begun yet. Spartak Stadium is constructed from scratch and private funded. The estimated cost of the project is about 12 billion roubles (300 million Euro). The stadium will be shaped as a six-story structure with two tiers of stands.
«These stadium have to be ready by the end of 2016 because we will host the Confederations Cup in 2017. It will be the ‘final rehearsal’ before the 2018 World Cup», said Alexey Vorobyov, head of the Moscow Department of Physical Eduaction and Sports, said according to RIA Novosti.
