CSKA president: Vagner Love doesn’t care about money at all

CSKA Moscow president Yevgeny Giner spoke his relationships with the team’s striker Vagner Love.

«Believe me, Vagner can even live without his salary. He doesn’t care about money at all. If you fine a million-earning player $100, he would argue and conflict, but if Vagner is late for training he’ll never tell you he had a flat tire, or he was at the dentist, or there was a traffic jam. He comes, puts money into the children’s school cash desk, and just walks away.»

«When Vagner Love got a yellow card in the match against Volga he already had tickets to Brazil. Does it mean he got booked deliberately?»

«Yes, Vagner already had the tickets. But he doesn’t buy them by himself – the club buys them to him. And he did have the ticket, because he had a court trial with his wife next day. He had to come back ahead of the match against Kuban. He received a Brazilian court’s notice in the case of property division with his wife.

«Vagner is one of those people who come and say, «I’m leaving, you may fine me or I refuse to pay my salary if you want. I’ll be back in two weeks, I don’t want to play, I can’t.» He won’t get booked in order to miss a game. Vagner has to be happy. Let him go for a month or two – he will come again and will play.»

«When I signed Vagner, the poor guy had been deceived. As far as I remember the bank went banktupt, he lost 800,000. But he said to me: «Come on, I will earn the money once again.» Or he would come and say: «I turned 21, it’s my age of majority, that’s why I was late for a week. I’ve been hanging out for three days, invited all my friends, there were 170 of us.» Our usual fine at that time was, I think, 20,000 for a day missed. He gave 140,000 and spend the next two days telling me how he was hanging out,» said Giner in an interview to Russia 2 television channel.
