Maxim Tchoudov: We’ll see in September whether I will resume training at all
Russian biathlete Maxim Tchoudov said it’s still not clear when he will resume training and told about his back treatment.
«My last visit to Germany, where doctors examined me, has confirmed the diagnosis I’ve already had in the spring – inflammation of spinal and thoracic bones. A treatment has been prescribed, including procedures, my recovery will take place during the whole month of August. The doctors discouraged me from any sharp movements and back loads. I’m training by a super-light program, just to maintain muscle tonus. The only thing I’m not limited in is regular swimming.
«Perhaps, it turned out that my inflammation was a neglected one – that’s why the treatment takes so long. In September I will fly again to Germany and only after that it will be possible to say when I will resume training and whether I will resume it at all…
«I have more than enough desire to train, compete, and return to my former level (and even higher), but if my state of health precludes me from that… Sports require you to sustain extra loads, but if health does not allow it – you can’t do anything about it,» Tchoudov said in an interview with Eurosport.
Tchoudov had said earlier that he plans to resume training in August.
