Final races at Blink biathlon festival cancelled after tragic events in Oslo

According to the information that became available to Sports.ru, the organizers of biathlon festival Blink have cancelled all the remaining events scheduled for today in Norway.

Yesterday Oslo witnessed two massive acts of terror, after a bomb blasted near the building of the Norwegian government and a simultaneous shooting occurred on Utoeya, an island outside the capital. Total number of victims has already exceeded 80 persons.

Whether the final part of the tournament would be held was already an open question yesterday. Today the organizers decided to cancel the whole festival.

«All the events within the framework of the festival, which had been scheduled for Saturday, are cancelled because of the tragical events in Norway. The detailed information will follow», the message on the festival’s official website reads.
