From the very beginning the both teams started executing their home made combinations And none of them paid enough attention to play D. Both squads scored as much as they wanted though not as easily as it might have seemed.
Little guys
Curry – Smith – Westermann VS Jackson-Teodosic.
It looked like the first three were about to win by their speed, individual level and shots. They got the ball everywhere either after screens or spacing themselves. They fired, fired and fired. CSKA just let them go and could pay a lot.
On the other spot Jackson tried to orchestrate and help in distributing the ball and closing out on his opponents. As for Teo – he flashed with inside immaculate assists of any kind, just those which CSKA needed at those moments. 12 assists - actually the best Teo passing performance recently.His cold brain prevailed and more over he managed to avoid his favorite turnovers.
Teo and Jack were the better in the end to get the coach's tasks done and stayed focused up to the end.
Curry and Westermann got down to jealous shots. They missed their chances and didn’t help much in Defense.
Rebounds
Though CSKA had more rebounds in the end 33-27, they lost the boards to Adrien Moerman who didn't face any difficulties adding the balls. 10 REB, 17 points.
Joker - Pavel Korobkov
Fresh injection by Pasha pushed CSKA to come back and be more versatile in the Offense and more safe on the rebounds. Short time, effective, like a pill – pain killer. He supported fast breaks, played out Pick & Roll situations and finished the crucial baskets. He is not a show time type, but his efforts really help the Russian team to win the lost battle. 6/6 from the field, 3 Reb- that was enough.
Hero – Andrey Vorontsevich – had a spectacular game being here and there with steals, rebounds and 2 3-pointers he refused to miss.
Figures: CSKA Lost the 3-rd quarter 14-27 and were top over Limoges in the last period 27-5. They broke the basketball notion and broke their opponent.
