Nikolai Khabibulin: Luckily the detention is behind now
Edmonton goalkeeper Nikolay Khabibulin stated that his conscience is clear by now and he can finally concentrate on the hockey.
Khabibulin was sentenced to 30 days in jail for driving under influence. He spent 15 days in Tent City jail and the remaining 15 days under house arrest.
The Russian goalkeeper will be forced have to wear an ankle monitor for some time. Moreover, he is subject to random alcohol testing.
«Trying to put it behind me. It wasn’t really easy to go though. Wasn’t easy for me or my family, and it was even harder for my family. But luckily it’s done now, and I can look ahead.
«I didn’t want to deal with it another year or whatever the timeframe would be for that, that’s why I did what I did, so I can come to camp and be over with it and just concentrate purely on hockey,» Khabibulin said as quoted by TSN.
