Roberto Carlos: I am a man like any other. Why can’t I take a ride on the subway?
Anzhi defender Roberto Carlos has revealed how his family had reacted to his move to Russia, has compared the different countries he had lived in, and has promised to take a ride on the Moscow subway someday.
«When the offer from Anzhi came, all my family members were just happy. It’s a new chance to know a new country, new culture, maybe, to learn a new language. It is useful for us, Brazilians.»
«Did any stereotypes about Russia vanish after you have settled here?»
«On the Internet, I saw many things which do not square with reality. Actually, both Moscow and Makhachkala are great cities to live in. The Internet is full of lies.»
«And have you ever been to the Moscow subway?»
«No, I haven’t been there yet. But someday I and my translator will definitely go there. I am a man like any other – so why I can’t I take a ride on the subway? I want to live a normal lfe like all the people do.»
«You have been playing in five countries during your carreer. Which of them you liked the most?»
«I have lived in Madrid for eleven years. That was the time that made me fall in love with Spain. In Italy the people very were pleasant, I have mastered the Italian language well. Now I will be living in Moscow for two years and a half – and after that I hope to be answering then that Russia is my favourite country. And, to tell the truth, I hope to spend here more than those two years and a half», said Roberto Carlos as quoted by RIA Novosti.
