Dynamo striker Kuranyi denies coach’s accusations of «demanding less» of himself

Dynamo Moscow forward Kevin Kuranyi voiced his disagreement with head coach Sergey Silkin over his recent playing form.

The Germany international, who has scored 10 goals in the last 32 games and Silkin recently told the press that he believes Kuranyi is «making reduced demands of himself» and his recent performances, as a result, were below par.

«I always try my best, but that doesn’t automatically lead to a very good game. That’s not true for any footballer in the world. I’m ambitious, as always, and I’ve extended my contract with Dynamo because I still intend to achieve a lot with the club,» Kuranyi said on personal his website.

However, he denied suggestions that the recent statements in the press are indicative of a rift between himself and the Dynamo boss.

«I’d have liked to play from the start and was obviously disappointed at starting [match against CSKA] on the bench. But there is absolutely no rift between us. I’ve praised him a lot because he does good work. And I believe that he knows what I can offer him,» said the 30-year-old German.
