Andrey Arshavin demoted to Arsenal reserves for the next match

Russian playmaker Andrey Arshavin has been dropped by Arsen Wenger to play for the Arsenal reserve team in their upcoming fixture against the Norwich B-Team.

A number of other first team players will join Arshavin in the reserves, including Marouane Chamakh and Yossi Benayun.

Meanwhile, Dennis Lachter, a well-know football agent, who used to represent the Russia captain, hinted that his former client may be contemplating a move to Anzhi Makhachkala.

«We can only feel sorry for Andrey, but we are unlikely to find out the true reasons behind his demotion – unlike the Russian clubs, Arsenal would not reveal the club’s business in the press. The transfer window shuts on the February 24 in Russia and Anzhi now have Hiddink, who is a big fan of Arshavin, so we should not exclude the possibility of his return,» the agent suggested.
