Sergey Ignashevich: Honda is learning Spanish, not Russian

CSKA Moscow defender Sergey Ignashevich, writing in his blog, discussed his teammate Keisuke Honda’s reaction to the break down in negotiations with Lazio over his transfer.

«The Japanese are a peculiar nation, Honda is a good example of that. That is why people treat him in a special way. He doesn’t deny the fact that for him CSKA is a gateway club into Europe, so instead of learning the Russian language, he is studying Spanish. He’s even been practicing with Onopko [who played for Oviedo in Spain – Sports.ru] and Mark Gonzalez. I don’t know what kind of effect the failure to sign for Lazio will have on him. He arrived only recently and has been training individually. That is all the psychological analysis I can offer you at the moment,» wrote the Russian centre-back.
