Moscow to have two 2018 World Cup stadiums instead of three

Russia’s sports minister Vitaly Mutko said that only two Moscow stadiums will host the 2018 World Cup games instead of three as provided by the country’s bid.

«We decided to leave two stadiums to Moscow, although there are three arenas under construction there at the moment. Luzhniki Stadium will host the final matches. As for the stadiums of Dynamo and Spartak, those who construct it first, will have the right to hold the World Cup.

«The reconstruction of the Dynamo Stadium is expected to be complete by 2016. Meanwhile, the owner of Spartak Moscow Leonid Fedun expects the first match at his stadium, which is currently being built from scratch, to be held in 2014,» Mutko said to Interfax as quoted by Sport-Express.
