Sandor Varga: Luis Suarez refused offers from Russia one year ago

Well-known East European football agent Sandor Varga claimed that Uruguay national team forward Luis Suarez had options to continue his career in Russia or Ukraine one year ago, but turned them down.

Being asked if the refusals of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Steven Defour to move to Rubin Kazan and Lokomotive Moscow, respectively, can be considered a tendency, Varga argeed and added Suarez to the list.

«Certainly. I will give you an example. One year ago, right after the World Cup I offered the Uruguayan Suarez several options in Russia and Ukraine. His answer was that he wouldn’t go there even he was offered ten times more than in Europe,» Varga said as quoted by Russian newspaper Sports Daily.
