CSKA’s Seydou Doumbia caught making insulting gestures to Zenit fans

CSKA Moscow forward Seydou Doumbia is believed to have been making some allegedly insulting gestures to the supporters of Zenit St. Petersburg throughout the entire game of Matchday 19 in the Russian Premier League, which ended with a 2:0 win for Zenit.

Two of such controversial moments featuring Doumbia could be seen during the game’s live broadcast performed by NTV-Plus channel. The forward was caught showing strange gestures when close to the guest stand.

In case the insulting nature of these gestures is proved, CSKA player can be banned for several games according to the regulations in force. Member of the Russian FA’s Ethics Committee Anzor Kavazashvili admitted that the issue may be reviewed by the football authorities: «His actions may be examined at the meeting of the Ethics Committee. If we prove that he has been making indecent gestures, we’ll think about a penalty».

It’s worth noting that Doumbia has been often suffering from racist abuse during his time in the Russian Premier League, especially from the fans of Zenit whom he named as the only negative thing in Russia.
