Anderlecht’s Lucas Biglia is unlikely to join Spartak Moscow

Despite the recent reports in the Belgian media suggesting that Spartak Moscow have been chasing the Argentinean midfielder of Anderlecht Lucas Biglia, the transfer is unlikely to take place.

Spartak head coach Valery Karpin has denied the information after being asked about Biglia in an interview with the Russian newspaper Sport-Express: «No, this player is not among those we are interested in signing».

An unnamed representative of Anderlecht has also brought the reports into question: «It is unlikely that Spartak will offer €8 million for a player who will have a surgery soon. We did not have any proposals to sell Biglia,» he said as quoted by Het Nieuwsblad.
