Nikolai Zherdev’s wife files complaint to police against her husband

Yesterday, on May 18, after a conflict with his wife Philadelphia Flyers forward Nikolay Zherdev broke her car with a metal pole, according to mk.ru.

The quarrel between the spouses has broken up at a restaurant. Zherdev’s wife Yevgenia decided to leave the place, got inside her Bentley Continental, and drove away. However, soon she had to stop the car due to a traffic jam. The Flyers forward caught up with the car and hit it several times with a metal pole he had found nearby. Zherdev’s wife applied to police that very day.

At the police the woman stated that her husband has been threatening her with violence and has caused considerable damage to her car. After the evaluation of the damage, Zherdev may well be charged with ‘deliberate damage to property’ according to the Russian Criminal Code.
