Jori Lehtera moves to Sibir Novosibirsk
23-year-old Finnish forward Jori Lehtera, who spent his last season at Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, has signed a contract with Sibir Novosibirsk according to the official website of the latter club.
After several successful seasons in the SM-liiga at Jokerit and Tappara, Lehterya was drafted by St. Louis Blues. However, he has not played a game in the NHL, having only played for their AHL farm club Peoria Rivermen. Later Lehtera returned to Tappara and after a successful season (68 points scored in 66 games) moved to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
With the ‘railwaymen’ Lehtera has played 53 games in the regular season, having scored 37 (16 +21) points, and 18 games in the Gagarin Cup play-offs, adding 3 (0+3) points to his record. At the end of the season the Yaroslavl club decided to release Lehtera.
Lehtera participated in the 2010 World Cup with the Finland national team.
