Jan Lasak will sign for Amur Khabarovsk
KHL’s Amur Khabarovsk has agreed contract terms with Slovak goalkeeper Jan Lasak, according to the club’s official website. The agreement will be signed after April 30.
The 32-year-old goaltender, well-known in Russia for his spells at SKA St. Petersburg and Atlant Mytishchi, has spent his last season at Jokerit.
Lasak has taken part in nine World Championships, winning gold (2002), silver (2000), and bronze (2003) medals with the Slovak national team. In 2002, he was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament. He also took part in two Olympics, in Salt Lake City in 2002 and in Turin in 2006, and played at the 2004 World Cup.
From 2001 to 2003 Lasak had a contract with the NHL’s Nashville Predators, though playing only six games in two seasons.
