SKA St. Petersburg GM: KHL needs to investigate Salavat Yulaev’s negotiations with Kuznetsov

SKA St. Petersburg GM Aleksey Kasatonov impelled the KHL to take action over Salavat Yulaev’s alleged negotiations with Traktor about the transfer of star forward Yevgeny Kuznetsov.

«What is happening in Kuznetsov’s case is very concerning to us. Salavat have made an approach despite the fact that the player still has a contract with the Chelyabinsk club. They are simply not allowed to do that now,» said the GM.

«Everyone should play by the rules, which state that the only time negotiations can begin is after April 30. We would also love to see the player at SKA, but we are waiting until the required date. We call on the KHL to resolve this issue,» he added in an interview to Ves’ Sport.

Earlier reports indicated that the player rejected Traktor’s latest contract extension offer, which was allegedly worth $2.5 million a season.
