Maxim Sushinsky and Oleg Tverdovsky leave Salavat Yulaev

Salavat Yulaev Ufa coach Vener Safin explained why the club decided to release two of its players – 37-year-old forward Maxim Sushinsky and 35-year-old defenceman Oleg Tverdovsky.

«We are rejuvenating the team. Our parting with Tverdovsky was mutually initiated. Oleg has been unhappy with little playing time, while Sushinsky failed to accomplish the task he had been assigned with. Thus, he failed to become the team’s leader,» Safin said as quoted by Sovetsky sport.

Earlier it had been reported that Sushinsky and Tverdovsky were assigned to Salavat’s farm club Toros Neftekamsk playing in the VHL.
