Tyutin signs six-year contract extension with Columbus Blue Jackets
The Russian defender of the Columbus Blue Jackets Fyodor Tyutin signed a new six-year contract with the club.
«Fedor has been our top defenseman since we acquired him from the New York Rangers in 2008. We are very pleased get him signed to this long-term deal,» said the club’s general manager Scott Howson to their official website.
The 28-year-old Tyutin scored 159 (37 + 122) in 492 games in the NHL. Last season he became his club’s best defenseman. Fyodor (more often spelled as ‘Fedor’ in the NHL) played 80 matches for the Blue Jackets, recording 27 (7 +20) points and 32 penalty minutes, becoming the team’s leader by playing time: this season the Russian spent on the ice an average of 22 minutes 41 seconds per game.
