Daniel Fernholm signs for Atlant Mytishchi

The 27-year-old Swedish defender Daniel Fernholm moved to the KHL’s Atlant Mytishchi, becoming the team’s fifth (and the last allowed under the league’s limit) foreign player, the official website of the club reported.

Fernholm won silver medals with Sweden at the recent 2011 World Championship, as well as the silver of the Swedish Elitserien in 2007-2008 season with Linkoping.

The Swede spent the 2010-11 season in the KHL with Dynamo Minsk, having played 21 regular championship games and having scored 6 (1 +5) points. In the 2011 Gagarin Cup playoffs Fernholm took part in 7 matches.

At his new club Fernholm will get a number 5 jersey.
