Nikolay Zherdev will join Atlant Mytishchi from Philadelphia Flyers

According to the information that became available to Sports.ru, Philadelphia forward Nikolay Zherdev will continue his career at the KHL club Atlant Mytishchi. The 26-year-old forward player will sign a contract within one or two days.

Atlant’s general director Andrey Verevko confirmed this information. «We have made an offer to Zherdev, now we only have to recieve his consent – which means the negotiations have entered the final phase. Nikolay will join Atlant on August 8, when the team returns from its first training camp,» Verevko stated to Sovetsky Sport.

During the 2010-11 season Zherdev’s record included 22 (16+6) points in 56 matches of the regular NHL championship and 3 (1+2) points in 8 play-off matches.

It’s worth noting that Zherdev has already played for Atlant during the 2009-10 season, having scored 39 (13+26) points in 52 regular championship matches and 1 (0+1) point in 4 play-off games.
