Alexey Kovalyov will sign for Atlant Mytishchi

The Olympic Сhampion of 1992 and Stanley Cup winner of 1994, Russian forward Alexey Kovalyov, who became an unrestricted free agent after his contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins expired, will sign a contract with the KHL club Atlant Mytishchi.

«We have had a long battle for Kovalyov and we are very glad that we finally managed to come to an agreement with such a talented forward. We hope that Alexey can fulfill his rich potential in the Kontinental Hockey League and thereby help Atlant fight for the highest places in the next championship,» Atlant’s general director Andrey Verevko stated to the official website of the club.

The 38-year-old ex-forward of the NY Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens, and Ottawa Senators will soon arrive to the training camp of the Russian club.
