Miodrag Bozovic: My opinion on Dynamo Moscow transfer policy wasn’t taken into consideration at all
Former head coach of Dynamo Moscow Miodrag Bozovic has said that the club’s executive director Roman Dyakov had insisted that all new players should be clients of the same agency that provides services Kevin Kuranyi.
«I had huge problems with the man who really pulls the strings at Dynamo. I mean the executive director Roman Dyakov. He started telling me very bad things about Voronin and Semshov right away, trying to convince me they should be expelled from the team.
He has been saying they don’t play at the level they should play. In fact, the real reason was different. Voronin and Semshov had one of the biggest contracts in the team. And Dyakov, as far as I understood, had promised to people at VTB [bank, main sponsor of Dynamo – Sports.ru] that he can cut down the club’s budget, optimize expenses, and it will not affect the results in any way. But it’s just impossible.»
«Can you imagine, what Dyakov did at the end of the last season? Ahead of the last game with Krylia Sovetov he asked me for a permission to talk with the team. I answered: «Of course, why not?» But I could not imagine, how that meeting would end up. Dyakov said to the players: «The club’s budget will be cut down and the most highly paid players will be put on sale». That was the mood the players took with themselves for holidays.»
«The main thing for Dyakov is that all new players in the team should be clients of the agency, which provides services to Kuranyi. Dyakov became obsessed with that agency and believed that Dynamo should be built around Bundesliga players. As a result, instead of Caio we have bought Misimovic, whom I also didn’t need at all. I knew Misimovic was a good player once, but recently he had almost no playing practice.
«When we were in Cyprus training camp, Dyakov called me and said he had reached an agreement with Misimovic. I answered: «If Misimovic arrives here, I will tell journalists it wasn’t my decision». Dyakov said: «OK, go on, tell them». I didn’t reply in order not to flare up the situation.»
«Dyakov could do whatever he wanted. My opinion on the transfer policy wasn’t taken into consideration at all. What could I do? I could not leave the team, because my contract stipulated that I should pay a huge amount, €2 million, in that case. I just don’t have that much money, so i had to bear it», Bozovic told to Sovetsky Sport-Futbol as quoted by Fcdin.com.
