Cesar Navas: I have some offers, but today I’m a Rubin player
Rubin Kazan defender Cesar Navas has shared his opinion on the Russian league and has admitted that he has been receiving offers to continue his career elsewhere.
«You have been playing in the Russian league for three years already. You should have formed an opinion about it by now. What is it?»
«I’m surprised by the competition for first place here. In Russia you never know that only two teams will be contesting the title – it’s good», said Navas in an interview with Sport-Express. «I believe it makes the local league more exciting and spectacular. In Spain everyone knows what teams will be ahead of the others. That’s a negative thing in my opinion».
«Is there anything that surprises you in Russia, beyond football?»
«I don’t feel any particular difference from Spain. A football player’s way of living is more or less the same. OK, the weather is different, it’s true. And the cuisine, maybe. But it’s not very important. My wife accompanies me here, but we don’t have children yet.»
«You’ve been born and raised in Madrid, a capital city. Don’t you feel Kazan is provincial?»
«I wouldn’t like to draw any comparisons between them. Madrid is really one of the best capitals in Europe, but Kazan also has its places worth seing. It’s quite a comfortable city to live in.»
«Aren’t you courted by any Spanish clubs? Rumor has it that Villarreal representatives have attended your match against Lokomotiv.»
«I do have some offers. But as of now I have a contract with Rubin and I try to do my best for this club».
