Russian FA cancels personal sanctions imposed on Kuban managers after the ‘Nikezic case’

The Committee of Appeals of the Russian Football Union (RFS) has considered the appeals filed by Kuban Krasnodar and their general director Suren Mkrtchyan, sports director Sergey Doronchenko, and coach Nikolay Khlystunov against the decision of the Ethics Committee.

Earlier, the latter committe found the club’s managers guilty of improper behaviour during the cancellation of contract with Montenegro player Nikola Nikezic, imposing sanctions on them ranging from financial penalties to year-long bans.

However, yesterday the Committee of Appeals decided to partially allow the filed appeals and cancelled the bans for participation in any football-related activity imposed on Doronchenko and Khlystunov, as well as the one million roubles fine imposed on Mkrtchyan.

At the same time, the decision on the two million roubles fine imposed on Kuban Krasnodar as a club has been left unchanged, according to the official website of the RFS.
