Former general director of Spartak: We were offered to buy Eto’O and Evra in 2004

Yuri Pervak, former general director of Spartak Moscow, has revealed that the club had had an opportunity to buy Inter’s current forward Samuel Eto’O and Manchester United’s Patrice Evra.

«There was a moment when we could buy Samuel Eto’O and Patrice Evra. The former scored a goal against us in the spring of 2004, when playing for Mallorca. The Spaniards immediately offered us to buy him for €10 million. We thought it was too much – and then Barcelona bought him for €15 million», said Pervak in his interview with Sport-Express.

«Evra was already a free agent after AS Monaco. We only had to pay some commission to his agent. But the people who pay money here have decided he has a bad temper – and refused to buy him.»
