Valery Karpin: If my time has passed, then I will go
Spartak Moscow manager Valery Karpin responded to the fans’ calls for his sacking after beating Kuban Krasnodar 2-0 in the Russian Premier League.
«Before I say anything else, I would like to thank the fans for showing up and supporting their team, despite all the controversy around Spartak in the last few weeks,» the Red-Whites boss began.
«In terms of attack, this was our best performance, we could have scored a lot more, Ari had a few clear chances. We had problems in defence, but generally we were happy with [reserve goalkeeper Artyom – Sports.ru] Rebrov’s debut,» he continued.
«Kozlov felt a niggle just before coming off the pitch, but we are not sure how serious it is yet. As for the fans banners, there is nothing for me to say. If my time has passed, I will leave. So don’t anyone worry about that.»
