Roman Shirokov: Fedun seems to be watching football from outer space

Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Roman Shirokov gave his take on the extensive «war of words» between the Russian champions and Spartak Moscow’s management.

«Valery Karpin reckons Kerzhakov should be punished for his challenge on Dikan, just like Welliton was, arguing that they did not initiate this «circus act». What do you say to that?»

«Then let them be the ones to finish the circus act! The smartest people are the ones, who find the strength to stand in the way of folly.»

«Another catchy comment made by Karpin: «Kerzhakov won’t get the ban, though he would have if he played for Spartak»»

«I’d recommend that the Spartak bosses spend less time constructing conspiracy theories, and more time on working to achieve the success that they have not seen in the last ten years.»

«Fedun seems to be watching football from outer space, to be honest. He says these things sometimes that make you wonder if he is on the same planet as the rest of us. And notice how he makes these statements mainly in the spring and autumn periods. I’ve no idea why that is.»

«Has the absence of black players in the club ever been discussed by your teammates?»
