Andrey Arshavin: I want to take part in every attacking move
Zenit St. Petersburg forward Andrey Arshavin commented on his team’s thrashing of Dynamo Moscow, in which he earned an assist and generally looked sharper than in previous matches.
«What are your impressions of today’s match?»
«The opponents started badly, making several early mistakes and we punished them. Then they improved, but the score was already 3-0. But once they poured their players forward, we used the space to counter and score again. Today we were visibly stronger, but I am sure that the upcoming Cup fixture between our sides will be different.»
«What can you say about your own fitness? Is it improving»
«Subjectively speaking, absolutely. I feel better, I move around more and want to get on the ball.»
«But you didn’t before?»
«When you are not in shape, an attack passes by and you just ignore it, but at the moment I have the will to take part in every attacking move.»
«Is your team play getting better?»
«Zenit are playing a rather different style of football compared to when I left, there is a lot more long balls, and passing into open space. So I have to adapt, step by step.»
«And what is your relationship with Spalletti like?»
«It’s normal. Luciano, as well as the rest of the coaching staff, a very supportive of me,» the Russia captain told Sport-Express.
