Krylia Sovetov chief: It will be hard to enforce the ban on the banana-throwing fan

Krylia Sovetov executive director Denis Maslov admitted the club has not yet taken measures to prevent the fan, who threw a banana at Anzhi’s Roberto Carlos, from coming to the stadium in Samara.

«A year ago the police publicised the identity of the man suspected of throwing the fruit on the pitch – Maxim Lipatov – only to be proven wrong later. He lived in fear for those few months, expecting revenge from the Anzhi fans. This time we worked very closely with the investigators and offered them to announce the identity of the perpetrator, which they did, providing video and audio evidence of the incident. But banning him from coming to our games will be problematic. We will spread round his photo and make sure the stadium security personnel are aware of it, but what if he turns up in a wig, which he would wave from the stands? It is now up to the Russian FA and the police to help us keep him and other misbehaving fans away from the stadium,» Maslov told Sovetsky sport.
