Andrey Arshavin: I am definitely ready to play

Zenit newcomer Andrey Arshavin, on loan from Arsenal, in an interview to Sport-Express insisted he is ready to play for his new club straight away.

«When did you learn about Zenit’s loan offer?»

«It was this week, though I can’t quite give an exact date; a few days before the transfer window closed.»

«What did you think about such option?»

«I thought that in the current situation it would be the most appropriate course of action.»

«Why did the negotiations stretch out for so long?»

«You know, when I first saw the papers, it was dated «February 24». I guess everybody expected the talks to last till the final hours. Maybe they remembered the way I arrived to London a few years back…»

«What can you say about your fitness?»

«I am in good conditions. Definitely ready to play.»
