Zenit wait on Arsenal response over Andrey Arshavin loan offer
Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg have made an official offer to sign Andrey Arshavin on a short-term loan from Premier League giants Arsenal.
According to Russian club’s executive director Maxim Mitrofanov, quoted in Sport-Express, the player is not looking for a permanent move.
«We’ve made an offer, yes. It is now down to Arsenal. If they give us a go-ahead, we will start talks with Andrey,» the exec told the newspaper.
«The player himself wants to continue playing in England, and we understand that, especially with his contract still running out in 1.5 years. But if he were to come on loan for the four months before the Euro, that would not be a bad move for him, and from the point of view of the Russia national team,» Mitrofanov added.
