Head of Russian PFA: Roberto Carlos is trying to handle Anzhi’s massive transfer budget
Nikaly Grammatikov, chief of the Russian Professional Footballers Union, gave his opinion on the recent staff changes at Anzhi.
«The conflict that resulted in Krasnozhan’s sacking stems from the dissatisfied Anzhi stars although [sporting director] German Tkachenko also played his part. Yury Krasnozhan complained several times about Roberto Carlos’s growing influence in the way the club is run. The Russian is a rational coach, he weighs every decision carefully and chooses every potential transfer target meticulously. But it is Roberto Carlos, who has close ties with Kerimov, who handles the club’s massive transfer budget,» the official explained.
Meanwhile, according to a report in the newspaper Moskovskie Novosti, the reason for executive director Alan Soziev’s sacking was mismanagement of the club’s finances.
The paper’s source claims that financial irregularities were exposed after an internal investigation was conducted within the Dagestan club by owner Suleiman Kerimov’s security team. The results of the enquiry showed that the rent fees paid by the club for pitches and hotels during the team’s visit to UAE were twice the actual price.
